Information Products Creation and Marketing

This is one of the most lucrative businesses on the internet today. Although, somebody may ask me Why I said so?This is because everyone online is practically seeking information.Do not over look this simple sounding business. I made my first money online after lots of months online because, as a newbie, you sign up in as many programs but after the day of the sign up, you cannot be able to track the performance of those links, not only because you are a newbie, but because you cannot drive traffic to those your links, especially when you join the affiliate marketing, blogging, etc. When I joined information marketing, I made my first money by selling my first eBook. My best and favourite way of packaging Information products are as eBooks (electronic books). This is because of the following Reasons:• High Profit Margins: If you package an InfoProduct that is
Valuable, you can easily charge $29 – $150 for it without even blinking. Just last month, I called up one of my online friends to ask him some questions. He pointedly told me that the Information will cost me $2000. After I paid, he just typed the stuff in less than four pages of Word and sent it to me as an email attachment though he converted it to PDF!
I didn’t feel cheated in any way because the Information will in return make me a lot of money before long.• Zero Cost of Delivery: Save yourself and your customers
Some Money by eliminating an additional $20 for Shipping which you are wickedly going to transfer to them (*grins*).• Zero Packaging Cost: Most of the information is sent electronically, you will eliminate the cost of packaging it. For example, I just finished writing a most wonderful report titled “E-book Production: How an average person can easily raise Business Capital – With or Without Collateral”. (More than 10 genius strategies). And because of the premium nature of the information, I easily pegged the price at $60 (although I know the information contained is worth more than $4000! – Lot’s of poor people around (*shakes head and grins*).Now, I decided to package the Report as hard copies instead of eBooks. Just see the challenges I encountered:
• I wanted to use a quality three-ring Leather Jacket for the report. When I sought for the jacket of the quality I wanted (each costing $20), I was disappointed to learn that I couldn’t order the initial 1,000 I needed because the man only had 105 pieces out of the initial 1000 pieces I needed. Then he succeeded in convincing me that he was the only one in the entire market who had the type I sought for. In fact he said he imported the stuffs from China himself (You don’t argue someone’s dream with them – were you in the dream?!).
Because I don’t usually have time I decided to agree with him on the importation thing. While he didn’t say he would have to go China to import a new batch. As of the time of this writing, he still has not called me and it’s been up to three weeks now.• That was just for the Jacket, how about the printing of the materials? Initially, I wanted to use the services of a printing press for the first batch but after considering the fact that it printer, I decided to purchase a LaserJet printer and give it a Go.• Now coupled with the fact that I now have to purchase cartons of printing paper (costing about $190 each – if I remember correctly) I also had to contend with the printer Cartridge! The cartridge prints just two cartons before it runs out of ink – it costs $350 to replace it.Furthermore, I had to employ the services of other people to sort and arrange the printed sheets, then perforate and clip the sheets in the Leather Jacket. I paid $3 for each. Additionally, the E-book Production Package included a CD containing some files. I also had to pay $4 for each to be copied ( $1 for each to my youngest brother who is 22 years – for tearing the waterproof wrapper and $.50 each to my from a Laptop). Did I forget to mention that the CDs costs $5 each? Finally, If I put all my costs together, I’ll come up with a Production cost of up to $120 for each Pack! Needless to say I had to scrap the idea of hard-copies and repackage as an eBook.• Increased Profits: Because you will ‘entirely’ eliminate production costs, you will greatly increase you profits. If you launch your info product as an eBook, your only expenditures are: Advertisements (which is not a small issue! For my last e-Book’s Ad campaign, I spent about $7,000+ on Google AdWords adverts alone and another ad campaign I ran on Sunnewsonline.com cost me about $2,000, I also ran in the newspaper and then on the Website ), Staff Salaries if you have assistants, Internet Connection costs and most importantly your• Knowledge Acquisition Cost – what it cost you in time and money to acquire the information you are packaging. Besides these costs every other thing is profit. And don’t forget to pay your income tax to the government!• Instant Delivery: Because your material is being delivered via download your customers can receive them super fast. Usually they can receive their materials within just a few hours. However if you accept Credit Cards on your website or if you accept Credit Cards, it would really be instant – as in within minutes. In continuation, I am not able to package successful Best-Selling Information Products because I am a genius All you need do is uncover an area where people are not adequately informed and then package an information product around it.Your information product could be in the form of:
• An eBook.
• A manual.
• A CD/DVD.
• A Book.
• Video or Audio download OR
• Website Membership Subscription.
As a rule of thumb, you would do best in an area you in which you are naturally interested in. Additionally, you would want to package your information product around an area that appeals to a large number of people. The reason should be obvious to you. Would you want to sell only five copies of your Infoproduct?
